We need a state representative who knows how to get things done in Columbia.
Let’s keep Lonnie Hosey working hard for us.
Early Voting starts Monday, Oct. 19.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Experience Matters
Rep. Lonnie Hosey has spent his life serving his country and his community. Born in Barnwell County, he left to join the U.S. Marine Corps and served with the First Marine Division in Vietnam.
Wounded in combat, Sergeant Hosey spent 13 months recovering at the Charleston Naval Hospital before his honorable discharge. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his sacrifice and bravery in action.
Back home, he earned associate’s and bachelor’s degrees from Voorhees College. He went on to spend decades in higher education, including nearly 20 years at South Carolina State University, before retiring as a university administrator.
The people of District 91 first elected him to the South Carolina House in 1999. In 2026, the General Assembly honored his service by asking the S.C. Department of Transportation to name Highway 78, from the Bamberg County line to the Aiken County line, the “Lonnie Hosey Purple Heart Highway.”
Lonnie and his wife, Doris, live in Barnwell.
Delivering for District 91
Rural communities like ours need a state representative who knows how to bring our tax dollars back home.
On the House Ways and Means Committee, which drafts the state budget, Rep. Lonnie Hosey uses his experience and seniority to secure state funding for important local projects that improve our quality of life.

My Pledge To You
I’ve worked hard to deliver for our communities as your state representative. I believe our tax dollars should be invested in local projects that help keep us safe, educate our children, and improve our quality of life. As a member of the Ways and Means Committee, I’ve used my seniority in the State House to bring millions of your tax dollars back home.
I’ll put your interests first — always. As in the past, I’ll remain free from the influence of special interests — and 100 percent committed to the people of District 91. I’ll dedicate myself to serving our community’s needs. My ONLY objective is to make a difference for the people of Allendale, Barnwell and Orangeburg counties.
I’ll continue to offer the best constituent service possible. A State Representative is in a unique position to help people facing problems involving government. I want every resident to know they can call me for assistance on any matter, large or small. And if I can’t help them, I’ll find someone who can.
I’ll always listen to you. My door is always open to you, and it always will be. I’ll continue to listen to your views, ideas and concerns. I’ll remain visible in the community and easy to reach. Your input helps me to serve you well.
I’ll always strive to be the kind of public servant you deserve. I’ll give my very best efforts on your behalf, just as I always have. I’ll continue to work hard, provide positive leadership in the community, and hold myself to the highest standards of honesty, integrity and ethics.
I’d be honored to have your vote on Nov. 3rd.
